Travel grants for students/post-docs and early-career researchers from LMIC countries are available.

The applicant must submit an abstract after completing the registration in order to apply for the travel grant. Evaluation will be conducted exclusively for individuals who have complied with all pertinent regulations outlined on the relevant site: https://hugo-hgm2025.org/abstract-submissions/

To officially receive travel grant support, the applicant must agree to attend the HGM meeting of that year. The applicant must assign all rights for HUGO to use the information needed for all publicity related events. All submitted documents supporting the application can be used for promotional, advertising, and other lawful purposes in all media forms at the discretion of HUGO.

To qualify as a beneficiary and verify citizenship in an LMIC country, it is mandatory to submit a copy of the first page of your passport. The provided personal information will be used solely for the purpose of verification. In the case of U.S. citizens, you are not eligible to apply for this grant.

The method of support is exclusively through reimbursement, and the reimbursement will be given only for accommodations, airfares, and registration fee. Individuals are required to independently arrange for their travel, accommodation, and related expenses. Recipients of the support are required to submit receipts or invoices confirming the transportation and accommodation cost for which the applicant has previously indicated the fare. If the stated expected cost is deemed excessively high, it may result in disadvantages. Reimbursement will not be granted unless a receipt is submitted. Any other additional bank fees will be deducted from your total reimbursement.

Submission of this document does not guarantee travel grant support. Prioritization is contingent upon the evaluation score of the submitted abstract from LMICs and those who are in the early-stage of their career, preferably within 5 years.

After the HGM meeting, participation in the evaluation survey is mandatory to receive travel grants. Should you receive travel grant this fiscal year, you will not be eligible for identical support for the subsequent three years.
